After receiving the award, Dominique said: “The recognition is a wonderful and incredible surprise for me. I am feeling very honored after receiving this award because the nominees of Swiss Sailing Award 2016 were all great sailors. This recognition has filled me with energy for my upcoming projects both as a sailor as well as Swiss Sailing Federation regatta department director. In 2018-19, I am dreaming to sail Kerguelen and New Zealand, the award has motivated me to do so.”

The award not only recognized his contribution in Clipper Race but it also highlighted the work of Dominique in the world of sailing across national level and regional and. His contribution in developing sailing in Switzerland was also recognized at the award ceremony.

Swiss Sailing Foundation member Diana Fäh Mosimann congratulated Dominique upon receiving of the award and said “In all aspects of sailing, Dominique has years of experience. This quality of Dominique not only makes him a strong contender of winning this special award, but also the efficient successor chief of the regatta department, who is resigning soon.”
